Volunteer for Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis Middle School Dance

When:         April 18th, 6:30-10:30

Where:             Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis Clubhouse

Description:   On Friday April 18th, Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis will be hosting a Middle School Club Night/Dance for over 300 students. We are in need of chaperone volunteers to help with admission, chaperoning, and supervision of clubhouse areas. Help us make this a safe and fun event - Free Food provided!

Weekend Service Trip with INTO OSU: Explore and Restore Southern Oregon

When:         Evening of April 18th thru afternoon of April 20th

Where:             Ashland, OR

Description:   This trip is the perfect opportunity to meet new people, see a new area, and help make Oregon a more beautiful place. Participants will leave for Ashland Friday night so that we can explore the surrounding city on Saturday. On Sunday, the group will volunteer with Lomakatsi to improve the help of the forest. 

Number of Volunteers Needed: 15

Volunteer Requirements: The cost of the trip is $40, which covers transportation and two nights lodging.

Volunteers needed to set up for Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis Celebrate Kids Breakfast!

When:         April 22nd, 3:00-6:00  

Where:             Boys and Girls Club of Corvallis Clubhouse

Description:   We are in need of volunteers to help set up for our annual community fundraiser, Celebrate Kids Breakfast. Tasks include hanging wall decorations, setting tables, and assembling food plates. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year with 500 attendees!

Volunteer at OSU Career Fair

When:         April 23rd, Hour slots between 7:30am-4:30pm

Where:             CH2M Hill Alumni Center

Description:   OSU’s integrated Spring Career Fair is fast approaching on April 23rd, and that means we need lots of volunteers to make them a success!  Volunteering at our Career Fairs is a great way to network with employers or fulfill service hours for a class or organization.  If you are a student, volunteering at fairs can demonstrate to employers that you are an involved, active student- traits that employers hope to find in future employee candidates!  OSU Faculty and Staff volunteers are appreciated too!

There will be one career fair, which combines our all-majors and engineering employers:Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014.  Open to students 11am-4pm.  Volunteers needed 7:30am-4:30pm

There are many different volunteer positions, and we have 63 volunteer hours that need to be filled!  If you are interested in meeting employers or just helping the fairs run smoothly, your help would be appreciated!  You may sign up for as many hour-long slots that you would like, we just ask that you can commit to the entire slot.  If you are planning on  attending the fairs, you could come early or stay an hour later to volunteer.

All volunteers will be entered to win a prize from the Beaver Store valued at $25! All of the volunteer information can be found on the Career Services Career Fair Volunteer website, such as volunteer position descriptions and waiver forms.  Please read the instructions on signing up before clicking the links at the bottom of the page.  Your sign-ups will be managed through VolunteerSpot, which will send you reminders and will allow you to change or cancel spots.

Childcare and Family Resources Bring your Kid to Campus Day!

When:               April 25th, 9 am- 5 pm

Where:   OSU Main Campus, multiple buildings

Description: Childcare & Family Resources hosts an annual Bring Your Kids to Campus Day event in coordination with the national Bring Your Son/Daughter to work day. There are various activities for families to participate in throughout the day and volunteers are needed at each activity to sign the families in and distribute information. Some activities include: family bowling, art activities, tours, family swim, family climb, zumba, gymnastics and more!

Jefferson Elementary School Silent Auction needs volunteers!

When:         April 25th, 5:45-9:45 p.m. and 9:30-10:30 p.m.

Where:             UUFC at 2945 NW Circle Blvd., Corvallis, 97330

Description:   Must be 21 or older. Jefferson Elementary School's annual auction fundraiser needs about five 21+ year old volunteers from 5:45-9:45 p.m. Free dinner of yummy appetizers for volunteers. We also need a couple people to help clean up from about 9:30 to 10:30 (the same person can work both shifts). Volunteers assist in the kitchen with prep and loading of food trays, and walking around with appetizers to serve food to guests. Trays are carried from the kitchen to the rooms where guests are bidding on items.

Number of Volunteers Needed: 5

Volunteer Requirements: Must be 21 +. This opportunity is best for volunteers who enjoy working with people. Thanks for making our event a success!

Teach financial literacy with Austin Entrepreneurship Program/Enactus

When:         April 25th, May 23rd, May 30th, 7am-1pm

Where:             Cascades Elementary School and Pioneer School

Description:   Teaching K-8th grade about Financial Literacy, all the materials and lecture outlines are provided, we will even give you a ride to the school. Its fun and a great community service opportunity.

Volunteer Requirements: Time Intensive: minimum 4 hours prep, and 4 hours teaching

Volunteer with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: The “Fluff n’ Buff” Historical Building Clean-up Work Party Meet at the Fiechter House! 

When:        May 3rd, 10:00 am-1:00 pm

Where:             William L. Finley NWR- 26208 Finley Refuge Rd -(Fiechter House)

Description:   Come join refuge staff and volunteers from across the community to help clean and prepare refuge historic buildings for the 50th Anniversary Celebration! Dust masks and cleaning tools will be provided. This is the annual fluff ‘n buff before Finley’s 50th anniversary celebration the following weekend. Come sweep out the 1910 barn and gather owl pellets, or vacuum the 1850s Fiechter House and clean the windows! Cabell Lodge will also need a little sprucing up this year as it will be open to the public on May 10th and full of historical tributes to the refuge.

Volunteer Requirements: No requirements beyond being able to sweep and wipe windows. Volunteer forms will be provided, signature needed.

Volunteers needed for CARDV's Annual Mother's Day Weekend 5K Run/Walk

Description:     Support the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence's (CARDV) fundraising run/walk event!

Volunteer with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service“Wetlands, Wildflowers, & Wonder: Celebrating 50 Years”

When:        May 10th, 9:00 am-4:00 pm (shifts are from 9-11, 11-1, 1-3, or 2-4)

Where:             William L. Finley NWR- 26208 Finley Refuge Rd -(Fiechter House)

Description:   Willamette Valley NWR Complex 50th Anniversary Celebration Help us celebrate 50 years of habitat conservation and restoration in the Willamette Valley! A lot has changed since 1964, but not our dedication to conserving natural areas for wildlife and the people who love them. The celebration will include restoration tours, historic building tours and talks, a youth photography scavenger hunt, owl pellet dissection, a silent auction and much much more! A wide variety of volunteer opportunities will be available and all volunteers will be provided with lunch.

Number of Volunteers Needed: 20

Volunteer Requirements: Set up tents, assist with parking, staff information tables, hand out cupcakes, children's activities, etc.
